Names released in fatal construction zone crash near Manvel

Sep. 10—MANVEL, N.D. — Authorities have released the name of a woman killed in a crash in a construction zone on Interstate 29 on Thursday, Sept. 8.

Jodi Hanson, 62 years old from Portland, Oregon, suffered fatal injuries in the crash.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash occurred about 8 miles north of Manvel, North Dakota, shortly after 6:30 p.m. A 2015 Ford F450 driven by Adam Molenda from Helena, Montana was southbound in the left lane of Interstate 29, within a construction zone that was restricted to a single lane. The 2021 Toyota Corolla driven by Hanson was northbound in the southbound lane. The Toyota collided head-on with the Ford.

The Toyota came to rest in the median, where it caught fire. The Ford came to rest on the shoulder of the southbound lanes of travel.

Molenda and his passenger were both listed as having a "potential injury," according to the NDHP release.
