Waltbillig & Hood General Contractors recently completed the four-story Mainsail Apartments complex near the Marco Island Bridge in Marco Shores and it suffered no damage from Hurricane Ian.

“The fact that Mainsail Apartments withstood devastating hurricane-force winds is a testament to the design and Waltbillig & Hood’s quality of construction,” says Duke Kassolis, a Naples real estate investor and developer who contracted the Naples-based general contracting firm to build the 100-unit complex three miles north of the Marco Island Bridge off Collier Boulevard.

The complex, designed by MHK Architecture, includes a four-story apartment building and four garage buildings. There’s also a clubhouse with a pool, a gym, a lounge area, administrative offices, and a mail area with a parcel-holding room.

“The resilience of Mainsail Apartments in the face of a monster storm showcases our relentless focus on using superior construction techniques and working with the best subcontracting partners in the region,” says Jay Waltbillig, a Naples native and co-founder of the firm.

The 132,000-square-foot complex is located at 1771 Mainsail Drive near the Marco Island Executive Airport and is adjacent to Hammock Bay Golf & Country Club. View details of the property including floor plans, amenities and photos at www.livemainsail.com.

“Our hearts go out to the thousands of Southwest Florida residents who suffered devastation from Hurricane Ian and we hope our apartment project will help alleviate some of the critical housing shortages in our area,” notes Brian Hood, who co-founded the firm with Waltbillig in 2016.

In addition to multifamily buildings, Waltbillig & Hood provides full-service general contracting and construction management in the areas of health care, office, industrial, retail, self-storage and auto dealerships.
