NASA Langley’s Sigma Series digs into the ultimate question in science: What makes the universe work?

A least one scientist says the ultimate quest in science is to figure out how does our universe work?

The topic will be the focus of this month’s Sigma Series lecture hosted by NASA Langley Research Center, happening virtually Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Stephen Wolfram, a computer scientist and physicist, and the author of “A New Kind of Science” will share insights from exploring computation systems to building a fundamental theory of all physics, according to a release from Langley.

Wolfram created Mathematica, software used in education and many scientific, engineering, mathematical and computing fields. He also created computing languages and Wolfram 5/8 Alpha, a model for finding answers using data, algorithms and AI technology.
