In US news and current events today, chilling music was made by taking a Hubble photo and ‘translating’ it into sound. There is no audible sound in the vacuum of space, but that didn’t stop NASA scientists from figuring out how to make it. NASA ‘sonified’ this photo, which was taken by the Hubble Space Telescope n August 2018. It’s reportedly been called a ‘galactic treasure chest’ due to the number of galaxies shown in the image. The video was originally released by NASA in March 2019. The sounds are created by the stars and galaxies within the image, with stars and compact galaxies making short, clear sounds and larger, spiraling galaxies making more complex, longer notes.
