NASCAR: 2022 Michigan weekend preview

Aug. 5—This weekend, the NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series head to Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan. With this being NASCAR's only trip to Michigan this season, and with only a handful of races before the playoffs start, drivers will be in the zone and focused to finish the regular season strong.

Saturday, the NXS kicks things off early for their one day show with practice and qualifying at 9:30 a.m. ET. Then at 12:30 p.m. ET, the NCS gets their chance to practice and qualify. Coverage for these proceedings will be on USA Network for TV and MRN/SiriusXM Ch. 90 for radio.

Once practice and qualifying are complete, the NXS drivers head to the grid at 3:30 p.m. ET for their 125-lap "New Holland 250." Coverage for the race will also be on USA Network for TV and MRN/SiriusXM Ch. 90 for radio. Will AJ Allmendinger (16) repeat last week's win and last year's win, getting his first win on an oval in the 2022 season? Or will someone else come out ahead?

Sunday, the NCS drivers line up, pray, sing and fire the engines at 3:00 p.m. ET for their 200-lap "Firekeepers Casino 400." Coverage for the race will also be on USA Network for TV and MRN/SiriusXM Ch. 90 for radio. Tune in to find out of Ryan Blaney (12) can get his first win of the 2022 season and repeat his win from last year. A win at Michigan would make him the 15th different winner of the 2022 season, with only four races left before the playoffs start in Darlington, S.C.
