Nashua house fire leaves one homeless

Mar. 12—One person was left homeless Sunday morning after a fire caused significant damage to a single-family home on Venus Lane, Nashua officials said.

Around 10:05 a.m. Sunday, Nashua Fire received a call reporting a fire in a residence at 2 Venus Lane. Lt. Brian Maeder of Engine 6 arrived on scene and reported smoke showing from a single-wide manufactured home.

The homeowner was the only occupant and had exited the building prior to the arrival of Nashua fire crews, officials said.

Crews from Engine 6 and Engine 3 began attacking the fire, which was located under the home and had extended up into the bathroom/utility area, officials said.

The fire was brought under control in under one hour, officials said, but the residence sustained significant fire and smoke damage and was deemed uninhabitable.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Nashua Fire Marshal's Office, officials said.
