The site of the Nashville Greyhound bus station located at 709 Rep. John Lewis Way has been sold. Details on the future location of the bus station and plans for this downtown Nashville property are unclear.

The one-acre parcel of land that houses the Greyhound bus station, at 709 Rep. John Lewis Way and Division Street in downtown Nashville, was sold in December for $14.55 million, according to a Davidson County Register of Deeds document.

The land sale was first announced in September 2022 by property owner FirstGroup plc, a UK-based provider of public transportation, but the sale didn't close until Dec. 16, 2022.

Greyhound Lines Inc. sold the land to Cincinnati-based FirstGroup Services Inc. in July 2021 for $5,492,804, according to tax records. Both were subsidiaries of FirstGroup plc at the time. In October 2021, FirstGroup sold Greyhound Lines, but the Greyhound properties remained with FirstGroup Services.

In a release announcing the sale of Greyhound Lines, FirstGroup said the properties would initially be leased back to Greyhound at market rates, but were expected to be sold over the next three to five years.

The purchaser of the Nashville Greyhound property is Twenty Lake Management, LLC, an affiliate of Twenty Lake Holdings, which bought $140 million (all but two) of FirstGroup's Greyhound properties.

A spokesperson for FirstGroup plc confirmed the sale.

"This is part of FirstGroup’s strategy to sell our North American divisions to focus on our UK bus and rail operations," said Stuart Butchers, head of corporate communications. "Part of our North American business was Greyhound Lines Inc, which we sold in October 2021. We retained much of Greyhound’s property at that time, but with the December announcement these have now been sold."

Plans for the future of the Greyhound bus station are unknown, as Greyhound Lines Inc., didn't respond to media requests for additional information.

Representatives at Twenty Lake Management, LLC, also did not respond to requests for information about the plans for the site.
