Nashville's Assembly Food Hall earns spot on nation's best list

Located near the Ryman Auditorium and across the street from Bridgestone Arena is Assembly Food Hall — a gastronomic experience, complete with flavorful eats and beverages from more than 30 restaurants.

Assembly offers dining options for every taste, across several different categories — German, Italian, Thai and French just to name a few. No wonder it's drawn tasty praise from our Tennessean newsroom foodies.

And now, it's earned kudos from foodies nationwide. USA TODAY, our sister publication, recently placed Assembly on its list of the top 10 food halls in America.

Ready. Set Order!

Readers voted for their favorite food halls, considering fantastic selections of eateries and their contributions to communities.

Where did Assembly rank? And what did readers have to say about it?

Drumsticks please. (Get it?)

Assembly ranked No. 7 on USA TODAY's list of the best food halls in the U.S.

The listicle mentioned the fact that Assembly is located footsteps from Lower Broadway's honky-tonks, "smack-dab in the center of all things musical in Nashville..." Readers also liked the chef-curated menus, as well as the craft cocktails, wine and beer.

Finally, readers brought attention to the open-air stage on the largest rooftop concert venue in Music City, which makes Assembly one of the best places in America to eat, drink and play.

At The Tennessean, our food and culture storyteller, Mackensy Lunsford, and storytelling columnist Brad Schmitt recently ranked the restaurants at Assembly, offering readers their personal recommendations and favorite spots.

What our newsroom foodies had to say about Assembly Food Hall

Schmitt was a fan of The Philly Special, calling it the spot to visit for an authentic cheesesteak outside of Philadelphia. Lunsford's top choice was Dock Local. She especially loved the Connecticut roll, medium-hot Cajun boil and the Nashville hot fish and chips.

You've already heard from our resident foodies. And national foodies. Now go try for yourself. See why Assembly Food Hall was voted among the best 10 food halls in the country.
