Natalie Portman to star in movie based on diaper-wearing astronaut Lisa Nowak

A new science fiction movie loosely based on former NASA astronaut Lisa Nowak — notoriously known for driving from Houston to Orlando wearing an adult diaper to kidnap her ex-boyfriend's new love interest back in 2007 — will premiere in theaters this year.

Academy Award winner Natalie Portman will play female astronaut, Lucy Cola, who has a hard time adjusting to life back on Earth after living in space, as seen in the trailer released Tuesday.

"I just feel a little off," Cola says in the trailer for "Lucy in the Sky." "You go up there, you see the whole universe, and everything here looks so small."

The trailer teases viewers with glimpses of Lucy's struggle to return to normalcy while hinting things are not expected to end well for the NASA astronaut. It ends with the tune of The Beatles' song, "Lucy in the Sky" playing ominously in the background.

Directed by Noah Hawley, the film centers on the relationship of Lucy and fellow astronaut, Mark Goodwin — played by Mad Men star, John Hamm — and how her life starts falling apart when Goodwin begins an affair with another woman.

The film is a loose adaptation of Nowak's own romantic involvement with fellow astronaut William Oefelein. Nowak, who flew on Space Shuttle Discovery in July 2006, was charged with attempted kidnapping of U.S. Air Force Cpt. Colleen Shipman a year later and was sentenced to a year's probation.

Other actors starring in the film include Dan Stevens ("Downton Abbey"), Zazie Beetz ("Deadpool") and Academy Award winner Ellen Burstyn.
