Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent Buy a Beach House in Montauk

Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent are the new owners of a chic summertime getaway. Not long after the celebrity designers listed a one-bedroom apartment in New York City's Greenwich Village, the couple has reportedly purchased a Montauk, New York, home.

The three-bedroom, three-bathroom beach house was last listed at $1.59 million, though it isn’t clear exactly what the Nate & Jeremiah by Design TV stars paid for the property. In 2017, the dwelling was on the market for $4.35 million; prior to that, famed photographer Raphael Mazzucco bought it for $920,000 in 2003.

Built using reclaimed wood, the 3,500-square-foot residence is stunning through and through. Large paintings adorn the greenish exterior (though it is unclear if the art was included in the sale), and two tall rectangular glass windows flank the dark wood front door. Inside, the design is eclectic but modern, with an oversize chef’s kitchen containing an island that opens to a seating area and a stone-walled dining nook. The large living room boasts soaring ceilings, several unique chandeliers, and an angled stone fireplace. Driftwood beams and wood walls add to the casual-chic nature of the property.

As far as the bedrooms, the master is filled with light and leads into a bathroom with a sink made from Arizona turquoise. “Bedposts in the guest rooms are made from pilings salvaged from the Old Montauk Yacht Club,” according to the listing. “And sunken stones are incorporated into the home and highlight the bathrooms, which have open showers, a sauna equipped with infrared technology, and an angular comfortable teak tub.”

Outside is fully equipped with an outdoor kitchen, a heated pool, a chicken coop, a lily pond, and “boulders are sunken into the earth to form a path that leads you from the waterside of the property to the top of the hill.” There’s also a rooftop deck with views of Fort Pond Bay.
