- Nate Lowe seemed worthy of a late round dart throw in fantasy baseball drafts this spring. With an average draft position on Yahoo of 242.3. And he has proven to be much more than that out of the gate and Texas. Lowe had terrific offensive numbers in the Rays minor league system but never really established himself in Tampa Bay, and was part of a six player trade this winter, which landed him in an everyday role with the Rangers team again in transition. The now 25-year-old put up a 929 OPS with 16 home runs in 93 games at AAA in 2019. And he had a 985 OPS with 27 home runs in 130 games between three different minor league levels in 2018. What Lowe did in the first week of the 2021 season, 14 RBIs through his first five games is obviously not sustainable over the long haul. That would be a 454 RBI pace. But the draft day investment was minimal and he might have even gone undrafted in some leagues. The Rangers really might have something in Lowe as they begin yet another rebuilding process.
