National Bagel Day is this Sunday: Here's where to get deals at the Jersey Shore

It's hard to keep track of all these zany food holidays. There are so many hyper-specific ones, like the upcoming National Blueberry Pancake Day on Saturday, Jan. 28, and National Cream Cheese Brownie Day on Friday, Feb. 10.

But there's one day that Garden State residents should pay special attention to: Sunday, Jan. 15, is National Bagel Day. After all, New Jerseyans have better bagels than New York City, right? So you can bet local bagel shops are celebrating.

Here are some hole-y deals you can find at Jersey Shore bagel spots:

Atlantic Bagel Co., multiple locations: Known as ABC Bagel, all locations are offering a "Baker's Dozen," where customers can buy a dozen bagels, and get three free. Also try signature breakfast sandwiches on any bagel, like the Homerun (thick sliced bologna, fried with pickles, onions and cheese), or lunch bagel-wiches like The Atlantic (with fried chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers and pesto mayo); atlanticbagel.com.

Chamo's Bagels & Grill, Neptune City: This shop will offer a 12 for $12 deal on bagels when this article is mentioned at checkout. They will also be offering bagel samples for the holiday. Joe's Bagel and Grill, multiple locations: Buy one dozen bagels, get four bagels free at any location. Also try classic breakfast sandwiches on any bagel, like pork roll, egg and cheese; or signature creations, like the Maple Fried Chicken and Bacon Belgian Waffle sandwich. Manhattan Bagel, Forked River: Customers who order a bagel with cream cheese for $3.99 will receive a free 16-ounce coffee; 336 Lacey Road, 609-242-1616, manhattanbagel.com.

Rosko's Bagels & Waffles, Jackson: Known for its fresh bagels and decadent Belgian waffles, Rosko's will be celebrating National Bagel Day for two days, on Jan. 15 and 16. Stop in on Sunday to purchase one dozen bagels, and get one bagel free. Bagels & Beyond, multiple locations near LBI: One of the most popular bagel spots on the island, they have locations on both sides of the bridge. Also try their crumb cake, bagelsandbeyond.net. (There are also locations near Trenton and Little Egg Harbor).
