National Burrito Day is Thursday. Here's where to score deals and free food in Louisville

Burritos were one of the nation's favorite food items last year, and an entire day dedicated to celebrate is coming this week.

Several of your favorite Mexican restaurants will celebrate Thursday with free or discounted burritos for National Burrito Day. According to analytics from Grubhub, burritos were the app's most delivered item in 2022, jumping up eight spots from the previous year.

Here's some of the deals burrito lovers can score in Louisville for the upcoming food holiday.

Chipotle

Chipotle is giving away 20,000 free burritos to Grubhub users beginning Wednesday on orders with subtotals of $20 or more. The promotion will extend through Saturday and will automatically be applied at checkout, so you don't need a promo code.

The chain is also giving away 10,000 burritos Thursday through a Twitter promotion. Followers can text the codes that will be posted during the day on the @ChipotleTweets page to 888-222 for their shot at a free burrito. Participants may also get free delivery for their burritos with code "DELIVER."

Taco Bell

From Thursday to Sunday, Taco Bell will offer burrito enthusiasts a free Grilled Cheese burrito if you order a minimum of $20 on the restaurant's app. You can only get one per person, and people may sub the beef in the burrito for an extra fee.

People may also get a free burrito on delivery orders from DoorDash, Uber Eats, Postmates and Grubhub on orders of $20 or more, and all burritos are eligible.

Moe's Southwest Grill

Participating Moe's stores are offering a second burrito for 50% off if you order one from the app, in person or from moes.com.

Bubbakoo's Burritos

Bubbakoo's is giving away burritos for a year to 15 winners. To enter, Facebook users can like their post about the giveaway, tag two friends and share for their chance to win.

The contest ends on Thursday and the winners will be chosen on Friday, the post said.

Zombie Taco

Zombie Taco said, "if you're looking for an excuse to stuff your face with a burrito ... this is it," in a Facebook post about the holiday. The Louisville restaurant is offering $10 burritos on Thursday for dine-in or carryout.
