National Cherry Blossom Festival looking for hundreds of volunteers

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The National Cherry Blossom Festival is asking for hundreds of volunteers to sign up and help out for various events during the four-week-long celebration.

The celebration will begin on March 20 and go until April 14.

2024 National Cherry Blossom Festival dates announced

Volunteers will be asked to help in the following ways:

  • Handle balloons and banners for the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade, which will be televised

  • Stage managers and operations crew members for the Petalpalooza

  • Pet care team members to support Yappy Hours and Pet Comfort stations

  • Setting up and breaking down events and site maintenance

  • Interacting with visitors at the information tents at the Tidal Basin and other events
