What is National Dog Day?

Pet and family lifestyle expert, animal rescue advocate, dog trainer and author Colleen Paige established National Dog Day in 2004.

National Dog Day celebrates all dogs, mixed breed and pure. National Dog Day is also aiming to galvanize the public to recognize the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year and acknowledges family dogs and dogs that work selflessly each day to save lives, ensure public safety and serve as comfort and therapy dogs.
