America loves doughnuts so much it celebrates not one but two national holidays in honor of the fried-dough treat. There’s National Donut Day, which arrives on the first Friday in June, and National Doughnut Day on Nov. 5.

However you choose to spell or celebrate it, you’re never too far from a sweet ring of puffy-fried dough.

Where to indulge? Here are some expected and unexpected places for yummy doughnuts.

Jupiter Donuts

Palm Beach County’s premier doughnut shop is beloved for its decadent, old-school doughnuts, offered in a variety of flavors. Favorites include the maple-iced doughnuts, a range of old-fashioned doughnuts, French toast and red velvet doughnuts, plus the glazed, crispy Jupiter Kronut.

Jupiter Donuts has five locations in the county – Jupiter, North Palm Beach, Royal Palm Beach, Lake Worth Beach and Boynton Beach.

The Salty Donut

The Salty Donut was named one of the 32 “best donut shops in America" for 2022 by Thrillist. The brand is opening a location in West Palm Beach this summer.

This Wynwood-famous doughnut concept is expected to make its official West Palm Beach debut at The Square plaza this summer. A company rep says the sweet shop is "on track to open late July/early August."

Locals have had various opportunities to taste The Salty’s creative confections during the brand’s pop-up events at the plaza (formerly Rosemary Square). The next Salty Donut pop-ups at The Square are Saturday June 18 and Sunday June 19. Look for the old-school Salty trailer.

The Thai donuts at Kapow Noodle Bar in West Palm Beach and Boca Raton are sinful. They arrive at your table accessorized with a baby orchid flower, plus ramekins of sweetened condensed milk and raspberry-lychee sauces for dipping.

Cider Doughnuts

The chef-owned Cider Doughnuts company sells its warm mini apple cider doughnuts at the Palm Beach Gardens GreenMarket on Sundays. The year-round market, which runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., is at the City Hall Municipal Campus, 10500 N. Military Trail.

Cider Doughnuts is also a favorite vendor at the West Palm Beach GreenMarket, which is on summer break until Oct. 1.

Pelican Café

Doughnuts are a cult favorite at this Italian-leaning café, which operates in Lake Park’s historic Kelsey House, serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.

The homemade, trademarked Decadent Donuts are offered in a variety of flavors and finishes at breakfast and brunch. On weekends, you get a free one.

Donut Day events

Get a free doughnut at Dunkin’. The ubiquitous Dunkin’ doughnut brand is offering customers a free doughnut when they buy a drink on Friday for National Donut Day. To find a Dunkin’ location, visit DunkinDonuts.com.

Pair local doughnuts with local beer. The TMI Food Truck, known for its comfort food menu that includes fresh, creative mini doughnuts, will be parked at Copperpoint Brewing Company in Boynton Beach on Friday for a “doughnuts and beer” celebration on National Donut Day from 4 to 10 p.m.

The TMI crew will roll out the truck’s summer doughnut menu to pair with four doughnut-inspired beers on tap by Copperpoint. Whether you buy a pour or a flight of beers, there will be baby doughnuts to match. TMI’s summer doughnut flavors include guava and cheese, piña colada, chocolate s’mores and others.
