Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey played at Alabama in 2015-16, and the Crimson Tide played in a national title game both season, taking home the 2015 championship.

While practicing for Sunday’s AFC Championship Game, Humphrey was thinking about how the Chiefs, like Bama, have become a dominant force in football.

“I feel like, I don’t know why I was thinking about this on the field, the Chiefs over the years are the college football version of Alabama,” Humphrey told reporters. “It’s like year in and year out, (people) might be like, ‘Ah, they’re not looking that good. They’re not this.’ They’re still that team. They’re still the team to beat .... They’re Super Bowl champs. And for us to beat them is going to take everybody firing at all cylinders.”

Can the Chiefs make it back to the Super Bowl? Here are who 90 national experts are predicting will win Sunday’s AFC Championship Game, which kicks off at 2 p.m. and airs on KCTV (Ch. 5) in Kansas City.

A 23-22 Chiefs victory is the prediction from the Associated Press’ Rob Maaddi. Here is part of what he wrote: “All-Pro QB Lamar Jackson also has a tough task going against a Chiefs defense that gave up 17.3 points per game in the regular season and held the high-octane Dolphins to only seven points in the wild-card round. Led by All-Pro edge Chris Jones and All-Pro slot cornerback Trent McDuffie, Kansas City was No. 2 in yards, holding opponents to 289.8 per game. But the Chiefs were 18th against the run and the Ravens have the league’s top rushing offense led by Jackson, Gus Edwards and Justice Hill.”

Five of eight writers at CBS Sports see the Ravens winning: Ryan Wilson, Tyler Sullivan, Dave Richard, Will Brinson and Jamey Eisenberg. Taking the Chiefs: Pete Prisco, John Breech and Jared Dubin. Prisco forecasts a 28-26 final score and this is part of what he wrote: “This is Lamar Jackson vs. Patrick Mahomes, the likely MVP this season for a second time against a guy who has won two already. The difference is Mahomes has Super Bowl rings, while Jackson is just trying to get there. The Chiefs won a tough road game at Buffalo on Sunday, but the defense had some issues with the Buffalo run game. If that’s a problem against Jackson and the Ravens, it will be a long day. Jackson will run it, but he will hit shots off it. I think that Chiefs defense will play better this week, which will force Jackson to win it with his legs but mostly his right arm. He is more than capable.”

The Chiefs will win 30-27, says the Sporting News’ Vinnie Iyer. Here is an excerpt from his story: “The Ravens will play well. The Chiefs will play well. This will be a classic duel between Mahomes and Jackson, much like we’ve seen with Mahomes vs. Tom Brady, Joe Burrow, and Josh Allen. The quarterbacks, offenses, defenses, special teams, and coaches all are positioned to lead either team to victory. In the end, the Chiefs are still alive in the playoffs because of Mahomes, and it’s difficult to go against him in any such monumental matchup.”

Picking the Ravens are four of five writers at NFL.com: Brooke Cersosimo (26-24 final score), Dan Parr (24-21), Gennaro Filice (24-20) and Tom Blair (24-20). Going with the Chiefs is Ali Bhanpuri (23-20). Here is part of what Cersosimo wrote: “Kansas City’s air attack has taken steps forward lately, but it’s hard to forget all the issues from the regular season. After all, including the playoffs, Mahomes has suffered the NFL’s most dropped passes (32) and inherently leads the league in expected yards on drops (384), per Next Gen Stats. The Chiefs simply can’t afford these miscues in the pass game, because while Isiah Pacheco has produced, he’s not going to carry the unit — even if the forecast says it’ll rain Sunday. Plus, K.C.’s staring down a Ravens D that has very few weaknesses and is capable of not only stunting drives (SEE: vs. Houston in the Divisional Round) but having a turnover heyday (SEE: at San Francisco on Christmas night).”

The Ravens are the pick for all nine USA Today writers: Jarrett Bell (27-20 final score), Chris Bumbaca (27-23), Nate Davis (27-20), Safid Deen (30-28), Tyler Dragon (24-23), Victoria Hernandez (26-19), Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz (24-23), Jordan Mendoza (23-16) and Lorenzo Reyes (26-19). This is what Hernandez wrote: “The AFC championship is Lamar Jackson’s to lose. Yes, the Chiefs have marched past the Dolphins and Bills and Patrick Mahomes showed that he can, in fact, win a playoff game on the road. But Buffalo’s defense was decimated and Kansas City’s wide receivers still have not stepped up. The Ravens let the Texans hang around for a bit before putting the bow on them in the fourth quarter. Expect another remarkable performance from Jackson as he launches to his first Super Bowl.”

The Ravens are the pick for seven of eight coaches and executives polled by The Athletic. “The defense is too good,” a coach said. “KC will be stuck playing catchup.”

Taking Baltimore are four of the five people from the Baltimore Sun: Mike Preston (31-21), Childs Walker (30-24), C.J. Doon (27-20) and Tim Schwartz (30-24).Picking the Chiefs is Brian Wacker (24-23). This is part of what Doon wrote: “Facing Patrick Mahomes and an elite defense is the toughest test yet for this Ravens team, but even that won’t be enough to derail what’s shaping up to be a dream season. When he avoids turnovers, Lamar Jackson is pretty much unbeatable, even against a terrific defensive coordinator like Steve Spagnuolo. Mahomes can single-handedly keep the Chiefs in the game with his ability to extend plays, but his receivers are simply not good enough to go toe-to-toe with this Ravens defense. Travis Kelce, at age 34, isn’t the dominant force he used to be. On top of that, Kansas City is dealing with a long list of injuries and will be without All-Pro left guard Joe Thuney. Justin Madubuike and Jadeveon Clowney should dominate, which will frustrate Mahomes and lead to mistakes.”

Six of nine experts at ESPN have Baltimore winning: Stephania Bell, Matt Bowen, Mike Clay, Jeremy Fowler, Dan Graziano and Moses Moody. Taking the Chiefs: Jason Reid, Lindsey Thiry and Seth Wickersham.

The Chiefs are the choice for Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio while Chris Simms sees the Ravens winning.

The Ravens are the pick for six of the eight Bergen Record writers: Bert Bainbridge, Art Stapleton, Brian Marron, Vince Mercogliano, Steve Edelson and Chris Iseman. Taking the Chiefs are Bob Jordan and Dave Rivera.

SiriusXM’s Rich Gannon and Bruce Murray picked Baltimore.

Taking the Ravens are eight of 11 writers at the Athletic: Mark Kaboly, Nick Kosmider, Zak Keefer, Zac Jackson, Michael-Shawn Dugar, Austin Mock, Larry Holder and Jason Kendall. Picking the Chiefs: Ben Standig, Chad Graff and Tashan Reed.

Half of the six experts at Sports Illustrated are predicting a Chiefs victory: Conor Orr, John Pluym and Matt Verderame. Picking the Ravens are Albert Breer, Gilberto Manzano and Claire Kuwana.

The Chiefs are the choice for three of the six SB Nation writers: Jeanna Kelley, Pete Sweeney and Matt Warren. Taking the Ravens are James Dator, R.J. Ochoa and Mark Schofield.

Eight of 10 experts at the Dallas Morning-News picked the Ravens: Kevin Sherrington, Newy Scruggs, David Moore, Craig Miller, Dana Larson, Joey Hayden, Michael Gelkin and Tim Cowlishaw. Picking the Chiefs are Calvin Watkins and Damon Marx.
