Looking to celebrate National French Fry Day in El Paso?

Several restaurants will be celebrating the fictitious food holiday.

For years, July 13 was designated as the official observance of National French Fry Day. However, last year, fast-food chains Checkers & Rally's initiated an online petition, gathering numerous signatures, urging the National Day Calendar — the authority on "fun, unusual, and unique" national days — to move National French Fry Day to the second Friday in July.

So now, National French Fry Day will be celebrated Friday, July 14. Not all restaurants have embraced this change. McDonald's, for instance, will be offering special deals on Thursday, July 13.

McDonald's is giving away free fries of any size through the McDonald's App, with no purchase necessary at participating locations.

Jack in the Box free fries deal

At Jack in the Box, existing and new members of the chain's Jack Pack loyalty program can get a free large order of regular or curly fries with a $15 minimum purchase on Thursday. It could be a good time to taste-test Snoop's Munchie Meal before it's gone.

You can also get a free medium order of fries with your next order when you sign up for texts on the Jack in the Box website.

Carl's Jr. free fries daily for rest of 2023

You have to buy your French fries on Thursday in the Carl's Jr. app, but when you do, you will get an offer in the app rewarding you with free small fries each day for the rest of the year with a minimum $1 purchase. Again, you must be a My Rewards member and purchase fries on Thursday. The free fries daily offer is only good for one eligible Small Natural Cut Fry per day. Tax not included.

Hooters has free fries on National French Fry Day

When you dine in at Hooters on Thursday, you can get free curly or waffle fries or tots with any entrée purchased.
