National Guard downs Russian Su-25 near Bakhmut

On Feb. 2 at 11:55 a.m. two Russian Su-25 aircraft were spotted 3 km away to the north-east of Bakhmut. The Guardsman, armed with a 9K38 Igla MANPAD, overtook them and carried out an interception. One of the Su-25s was downed as a result, the National Guard said.

Russians heavily rely on Su-25 subsonic jet aircraft in their attacks on Ukrainian troops' positions and settlements, the National Guard noted.

Ukrainian forces neutralized 840 Russian invaders in the past day alone, with Russia’s total loss count sitting at around 130,000 men, according to Ukraine’s General Staff. Additionally, Ukrainian troops eliminated four tanks, six infantry fighting vehicles, three artillery systems, and two multiple launch rocket systems in the past 24 hours.
