National Nursing Assistant Week celebrated

CANTON — National Nursing Assistant Week was celebrated June 16-22 by the National Association of Health Care Assistants with the theme of “I’m Still Standing,” making it the perfect time for a photo op of current students finishing their final class in the Nursing Assistant program at Spoon River College.

Nursing assistants play a vital role in healthcare, and as the NAHCA said, “The last two years mark an incredible moment in history for CNAs, who have had an incredibly positive impact on older adults and those who work in and manage nursing homes, assisted living communities, and in-home care.”

The students are from Canton, Farmington, Lewistown, Havana, Kilbourne, Table Grove, and London Mills.
