National Pet Day: Here are the most searched pets (besides cats and dogs) in Ohio, KY
As if you need another excuse to celebrate your favorite furry (or scaly) friends. Monday is National Pet Day.
Dogs and cats are perhaps the most common household pet, but what about the rest of the animal kingdom?
Google Trends complied a map and shared with USA TODAY the most searched pets by state, excluding cats and dogs. The list does include guinea pigs, chinchillas, bearded dragons, sugar gliders and hamsters.
The answers may surprise you. In Ohio, the most searched pets were chinchillas, while Kentucky looked for guinea pigs. In Indiana, searches bearded dragons reigned supreme.

States around the country tended to search for similar pets. In the south, bearded dragons were a hot search topic.
New Mexico was the only state where hamsters topped the list.
