For National Pizza Week, Casey's launches search for Chief Pizza & Beer Officer

It's relatively new to Knoxville, but Casey's pizza, which has a cult-like following in the Midwest, began making its way into Casey's convenience stores locally in 2022. As of this summer, Casey's serves pies at five of its 15 Knoxville locations.

If you are a Casey's pizzaholic, the company has the perfect job for you. As National Pizza Week approaches (Jan. 14-20), the company has officially launched a search for the "prestigious and mouth-watering position" of Chief Pizza & Beer Officer.

The ideal Chief Pizza & Beer Officer candidate has "a high motivation to eat tasty pizza and responsibly drink ice-cold beer," the press release states.

Casey’s is committed to finding the most pizza-perfect applicant to appoint as Chief Pizza & Beer Officer across its 17-state footprint, the release said, adding the job benefits include receiving pizza and beer from Casey’s stores, branded glassware and other swag, coverage of travel costs and a negotiable compensation package.

If you like to eat Casey’s pizza, drink beer and find the best combinations of both, you can apply now at www.caseys.com/bestjobever; applications will be accepted through Jan. 24. Some fine print details: you have to be older than 25 and pass a background check; this is a contracted position that runs from Feb. 1-May 31.

The job application has some unique components. One question asks, "Tell us about a time you solved a problem with pizza & beer." Another section asks you to draw a picture of yourself as the Chief Pizza & Beer Officer.

“Tasting pizza and beer is fun − but it’s also serious work," said Anthony “Spice” Adams, who was hired by Casey's as its search consultant.  "After all, resting on the taste buds and shoulders of this new position is the pizza enjoyment of millions across Casey’s Country.”
