National Popcorn Day: Free popcorn at Emagine theaters

Americans consume lots of popcorn, some 15 billion quarts of it, according to the National Popcorn Board.

Michigan is also one of the top-producing popcorn states in the Midwest.

And if you have a hankering for popcorn, you can celebrate on Wednesday, which is National Popcorn Day. Area Emagine theaters on Wednesday are also celebrating the day. On Wednesday, Emagine is giving away a free, small classic movie-style popcorn. More than a dozen theaters are participating.

It's one free popcorn per guest. You can upgrade to flavored popcorn for a fee.
