National Pretzel Day 2023: Philly Pretzel Factory, Auntie Anne's, others continue pretzel deals

Wednesday is a day to save some dough on twisted treats.

It's the lesser-known made-up food holiday of National Pretzel Day and pretzel franchises and businesses nationwide are celebrating the salty made-up food holiday by giving away pretzels and other discounted treats.

The day to honor the knotted treat began in 1983 by then-U.S. Rep. Robert Walker of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Twenty years later in 2003, then-Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell made it official when he declared April 26 as National Pretzel Day.

So today, here's where you can find some Pretzel Day freebies and deals:

Philly Pretzel Factory

In celebration of National Pretzel Day, customers can get one free pretzel per guest, no purchase necessary, at all Philly Pretzel Factory stores and Walmart locations, according to retailmenot.com. At participating locations, the first 100 customers to show up on April 26 will receive a punch card for 1 free pretzel every day of May.

Auntie Anne's

To celebrate the holiday, Auntie Anne’s is thanking members with these three special deals:

• Auntie Anne’s Rewards members can redeem a free Original or Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel in-store, no purchase necessary;

• Add a dip or a drink to your free pretzel order on National Pretzel Day and receive a surprise offer for your next Auntie Anne’s visit, valid for 14 days;

• Auntie Anne’s Rewards members can enjoy $0 delivery fee on orders of $12 or more from order.auntieannes.com or the Auntie Anne’s Rewards App, valid only on April 26.

Flipz

From April 26 through May 9, pretzel fans nationwide can enjoy free Flipz when ordering exclusively through Instacart, on select offerings while supplies last.

Sheetz

From April 26 to 28, customers can get one free soft pretzel when they purchase a self-serve fountain beverage or self-serve coffee. You’ll find this deal in the Sheetz app under the OFFERZ tab. Limit of one free pretzel per Rewardz member.
