National Tequila Day deals are pouring Wednesday. Where to get discounted margaritas
National Tequila Day starts before 5 o'clock Wednesday.
At bars and restaurants across the country, it’s an all-day celebration that includes deals on margaritas – America’s most common tequila-based cocktail – and specials on shots.
Tequila is made from the blue agave plant, which is found near the city of Tequila, Mexico.
According to a report by IBISWorld, tequila like rum, underwent a backslide in popularity over the past five years. But unlike rum, the research company has found tequila sales have rebounded.
Wednesday also is National Drive-Thru Day, National Cousins Day, National Amelia Earhart Day and National Thermal Engineer Day.
And while there are margarita and shot deals, don't expect to find as many as Cinco de Mayo or National Margarita Day held in February.

Tequila Day deals
Participation and offers vary by location – sometimes because of state and local laws – so check with your closest location before heading out. Also expect to find specials during happy hours.
Abuelo’s: Signature margaritas are $6.95 Wednesday.
Applebee's: There's no tequila in the Malibu DOLLARMAMA, Applebee's July Neighborhood Drink of the Month. But for $1, get the 10-ounce drink, which includes Malibu Coconut Rum and Tropicana orange and Dole pineapple juices. Some franchise locations also may have Tequila Day deals. For instance, Apple Texas Applebee’s have 50 cents margaritas Wednesday.
Bahama Breeze: Through Saturday, get $5 Classic Margaritas and $10 Tequila Flights.

bd’s Mongolian Grill: Get $5 margaritas Wednesday.
Chili's: In addition to the $5 Margarita of the Month, the Southern Back Porch ‘Rita, on Wednesday, the Jackberry and Grand Coconut margarita and Chili's signature Presidente Margarita also are $5.
Chuy’s: Get $1 floaters and $1 off the chain’s new Frozen Patron Pineapple Rita plus $5 queso appetizers. Check your local restaurant’s Facebook page for more details.
El Fenix: House margaritas served on the rocks or frozen are $1 Wednesday.
Logan's Roadhouse: Get $2 House Margaritas Wednesday. The company said in a tweet that the offer is not available in Alabama, California, North Carolina, South Carolina or Augusta, Georgia.
Margaritas Mexican Restaurants: Get $5 infused tequila shots, a $5 tequila lime taco, $6 flavored margaritas and $8 Guacamole Flight Wednesday.

On The Border: Get a $1 meltdown, $2 cup of queso, $3 shot of Cuervo, $4 Cuervo margarita Wednesday.
Taco Cabana: Get $1 shots of Sauza Gold Tequila Wednesday. Limit two per guest, per transaction.
Twin Peaks: All day Wednesday, Cuervo Silver or Dulce Vida are $2.99 or Patron Silver, Don Julio Silver or Herradura Silver are $4.99.
More deals: Locally owned businesses and regional chains also may have specials for National Tequila Day. One of the easiest ways to find out is to check restaurants' social media channels.
