Nationals designate P Miller for assignment

The Washington Nationals designated right-handed pitcher Justin Miller for assignment on Monday.

Miller, 32, had been on the 60-day injured list with a right rotator cuff strain. Because he was on the 60-day IL prior to the transaction, the Nationals will not create an open spot on their 40-man roster.

Miller pitched in 17 games out of the bullpen this season with a 1-0 record and 4.02 ERA before being injured in May. In 2018, he was 7-1 with a 3.61 ERA in 51 appearances.
