Nativity scene floats in Venice lagoon

The artwork, created by Francesco Orazio, a greengrocer with an artistic bent, was completed on Tuesday (December 15) in an open stretch of water, without hindering navigation.
The 60 painted plywood nativity shapes were fixed by wooden stakes into the lagoon. And, for a couple of hours a day, the feet of the statues are exactly level with the water.
Luckily for the artist, high tide is not expected anytime soon, so Jesus and his family can remain in peace.
