When firefighters arrived they discovered the walls of the house had been blown out and the structure was partially collapsed.

The explosion did not cause a fire, but Mawson said the house, worth an estimated $177,000, was a total loss.

Mawson confirmed the explosion was caused by a gas leak.

A woman in the house was taken by ambulance to United Regional Health Care. Her condition had not been released Sunday night.
