Nature's Miracle marijuana shop and farm remains open after fire: 'We never closed'

SOUTH BERWICK, Maine — Nature's Miracle owner Eric Bergendahl wants his customers to know the marijuana shop is operating at full capacity, and last month's fire did not disrupt his business.

One of Nature's Miracle's growing and production buildings was destroyed in the early morning fire Oct. 27 at the marijuana farm and dispensary located at 161 Ogunquit Road.

"We have been able to make use of other grow space located on our property to avoid any disruption in our service or the availability of our products," Bergendahl said. "We will be working hard to repair the damage as quickly as possible."

Bergendahl said he fears some of his customers incorrectly think Nature's Miracle is closed because of the fire because he has seen a slight drop in business.

"We never closed," he said. "There has been no disruption in our business or our product. I have 40 acres here for adult use cultivation."

Bergendhal said he became a registered nurse in 1998 and a licensed cannabis caregiver in 2013.

"I started studying the medicinal benefits offered by cannabis, including its ability to treat chronic pain ... before opening Nature's Miracle in 2014," he said. "I built Nature's Miracle to be a vertically integrated company so as to grow and produce our products we sell to our customers without relying on sourcing from outside companies."

He noted Nature's Miracle only outsources for dairy products and honey, which come from another South Berwick farm.

He said Nature's Miracle produces 33 different strains of cannabis, Rick Simpson oil, distillate cartridges, edibles (including baked goods, candy bars and gummies), THC-infused honey and maple syrup and ice cream in multiple flavors, among other products.

Nature's Miracle services only medical card holders, Bergendahl said, and it covers the cost of medical cards for customers.

"We reimburse them 100% for the cost of their medical cards if they are a customer at our store," he said. "All they need to do is show us a receipt.."

Bergendahl said he plans to rebuild the damaged grow building, but at an estimated cost of $175,000 and with no insurance on the building, it will take time.

"The town said we can rebuild, and add a basement, as long as we remain in the same footprint," Bergendahl said. "Nature's Miracle is alive and well. We can take care of all our customers' needs while we rebuild."
