Navarre Bethlehem Township Historical Society plans meeting, car show, walking tour

NAVARRE − At its monthly meeting, the Navarre Bethlehem Township Historical Society made final plans for the car show this Sunday.

It will be held at Main and Center streets, across from the Nickles Bakery.

The next meeting will be Oct. 4 for election of officers at 10 a.m. Anyone interested in helping should attend this meeting.

The Society would like to have another walking tour of the Canal Towpath at 6 p.m. Oct. 18. It will go up Route 21 and then West Canal Street to the museum. Walkers would meet at the Define Building at Canal and Market streets at 6 p.m. If you are interested, call 330-879-5938. The walking tour would need to have at least five people. Leave your names, phone numbers and number of people joining. Members are in the museum only from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays to check phone messages.

The Society collects aluminum cans to help pay its utilities. Collection barrels are located outside the education building behind the Mathews Museum.
