The Dallas Mavericks are coming off a triumphant blowout Game 7 victory over the Phoenix Suns, but there aren’t many bettors backing them on Wednesday night.
Even on the heels of such a dominant outing to close out the second round, the Golden State Warriors are getting more than six times as much money as Dallas for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.
The Warriors are favored by 4.5 points for Game 1 at BetMGM. As of Wednesday morning, 83% of the bets and 86% of the money wagered on the point spread has come in on Golden State, leaving just 17% of the bets and 14% of the money on Dallas.
The spread actually opened up at Warriors -5.5, but has moved down a point despite the volume of action on the Golden State side.
The Warriors are 4-2 against the spread at home during the postseason. The Mavericks are 4-3 ATS as the road team during the playoffs. That includes Sunday’s 33-point win over the Suns as a 6.5-point underdog.
The total for Wednesday night’s game is 214.5 and most bettors are on the over. According to BetMGM, 66% of the bets and 60% of the money is on the over.
The over is 7-4 in Warriors games this postseason. Dallas games have been a bit more low-scoring with the under hitting in eight of the team’s 13 playoff games.
