Ariel Epstein breaks down her top plays for the NBA DFS slate on Friday, Jan. 21

Video Transcript

ARIEL EPSTEIN: Happy Friday. I'm the prop queen, Ariel Epstein. It's January 21. And I've got three plays for you in NBA DFS. Let's start with the San Antonio Spurs point guard Dejounte Murray. He's $47 on Yahoo Fantasy. And he is worth it tonight. Murray is averaging just under 24 points per game, just over 8 rebounds, and just over 9 assists in his last 10 games. The Nets have been struggling on defense.

Overall this season, Brooklyn's allowed just over 109 points per game. However, in the last 10, that number is up to just over 117 points per game allowed to opponents. Brooklyn has struggled against guards too. Guards in the last 10 games have been averaging just over 26 points per game if they're the leading scorer on their team. Not only do I love Murray tonight to put up a ton of points, I love him for a potential triple double. That would be the second triple double in a row. And it's hard to do. He's going to come close though. Put Murray in your lineup tonight.

For my second play, $25 Milwaukee center Bobby Portis. Portis has been averaging 17 points, just over 8 rebounds went up against a team bottom 10 in points allowed in the paint. That's what Chicago's been doing. They have been struggling a ton in the paint. Not only overall this season have the Bulls allowed the ninth most points per game in the paint, in the last three that number from just under 48 points per game is up to 56 points per game allowed in the paint. That's one of the worst in the NBA in the last three games. With the Bulls struggling down below, I'm going to take advantage and put that center for Milwaukee, Bobby Portis, in my lineup.

My value play it's a good one. $17 for Golden State Warriors shooting guard Jordan Poole. A lot of the times you like to fade players on the second leg of the back to back, which is what the Golden State Warriors are on. The Warriors are up against the Houston Rockets, who are the worst defense in the NBA. Houston's allowing 116 and 1/2 points per game all season. That number has gone up to 122 points per game in the last 10.

Poole has actually been one of those players to play really well on the second leg of a back to back. This is because Golden State could be resting starters, and Poole just so happens to be the player that steps it up. On the second leg of a back to back, Poole's averaging just over 19 points per game, 4 rebounds, and just under 4 assists. For a player that's under 20 bucks, I'm putting Jordan Poole in my lineup hoping he gives me close to a 20 point performance.

Here's your NBA DFS recap. For $47, I'm playing Dejounte Murray. For 25 bucks, I'm putting Bobby Portis in my lineup. And my value play for $17, shooting guard of the Golden State Warriors Jordan Poole. That's it for me, the prop queen Ariel Epstein here in Yahoo Daily Fantasy in the NBA. Good luck and happy weekend.
