NBA Draft: Former Cox Mill High standout heads to Minnesota

The Dallas Mavericks used its 26th pick to choose Concord-native Wendell Moore, Jr. in the 2022 NBA Draft. Moore was then traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves Thursday night.

Moore and his family celebrated at a watch party in uptown Charlotte when his name was called.

“Man,” Moore told Channel 9. “It’s just so many emotions. I mean this is a life-long dream for me.”

Moore is a former Cox Mill High School standout and Duke Blue Devil.
