NBA: Last two calls in Heat-Bucks Game 2 correct, but three officiating errors made on Butler turnover

The NBA’s referee report on the last two minutes of the Miami Heat’s 116-114 victory Wednesday night over the Milwaukee Bucks said the two fouls called in the game’s final 4.3 seconds were correct — but that a triple officiating error preceded those rulings.

Had any of the errors on the incorrectly officiated play been cited, it likely would have rendered the final two rulings moot, based on time and score.

As for the game’s final play, the league’s officiating supervisors ruled a foul by Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo on Heat forward Jimmy Butler at the expiration of the fourth quarter was a correct call. Butler then closed out the scoring with two free throws.
