NBA lifts international travel ban for fully vaccinated team scouts
On Monday, it was reported by Jonathan Givony of ESPN that the NBA is lifting international travel restrictions for fully vaccinated team personnel that wish to scout potential prospects.
The league initially banned international travel for scouts based in the United States in October 2020. Scouts are now permitted to travel abroad as long as they comply with applicable government regulations while adhering to social distancing and other health and safety protocols.
Team scouts and other personnel are considered to be fully vaccinated seven days after receiving their second dose of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccinations or 14 days after the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine, according to the report.
With the NBA loosening international travel restrictions, scouts may now attend games and practices open to the general public or those events available for all 30 teams to witness in-person.
The NBA draft is set to take place on July 29.
