NBA players react to Dustin Poirier’s knockout of Conor McGregor

On Saturday, Dustin Poirier defeated Conor McGregor by TKO at UFC 257 at Etihad Stadium in Abu Dhabi to avenge a previous loss in 2014 to the former champion.

The match began with McGregor dominating the first round and the start of the second round. However, Poirier quickly regrouped and unleashed a flurry of strong punches to the face of McGregor before the contest was called at the 2:32-mark of the second round.

The victory for Poirier marks his second straight, while McGregor, who was previously the UFC lightweight and featherweight champion, has now lost two out of his last three fights. Poirier entered the night as the heavy underdog, while McGregor was widely expected to win.

The fight capped off an exciting evening of action between the main card and undercards. Social media immediately exploded following the TKO by Poirier, with many shocked to see what unfolded.

Several players from around the NBA even took to Twitter to share their reactions.
