NBA power rankings: Are Bucks team to beat following blockbuster trade for Damian Lillard?

The Milwaukee Bucks have moved ahead of the Denver Nuggets and Boston Celtics as odds-on favorites to win the NBA championship after making a blockbuster trade to acquire Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers.

The three-team trade altered the NBA landscape with Lillard going to Milwaukee, Jrue Holiday and Deandre Ayton going to Portland, and Jusuf Nurkic, Nassir Little, Keon Johnson and Grayson Allen going to the Phoenix Suns. The Blazers turned around and traded Holiday to the Celtics, further fueling the arms race in the Eastern Conference.

The Bucks have added Lillard to a group that features two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez. The Celtics have added Holiday to a team that includes Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis.

The Bucks and Celtics appear to be on a collision course in the East. Meanwhile, in the Western Conference, the Nuggets will have to hold off a deep field that includes the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings.
