NBA-Spurs sprint past Heat to take 2-1 lead in NBA Finals

MIAMI, June 10 (Reuters) - The San Antonio Spurs routed the Miami Heat 111-92 to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven NBA Finals on Tuesday and deal the Heat their first home loss of the playoffs. The Spurs played their motion offense to near perfection in the first half leading by as many as 25 points before going into intermission with a 71-50 lead. Miami moved within seven points at 81-74 with three minutes left in the third quarter before the Spurs built it back to 11 points and reasserted themselves in the fourth quarter to clinch victory. Kawhi Leonard led the Spurs with a career high 29 points, while four-time NBA most valuable player LeBron James scored 22 points to share Miami scoring honors with Dwyane Wade, although James was never able to take control of the game.
