These NC companies were named among most trustworthy in the world, new survey says

North Carolina and the Charlotte region are home to some of the most trustworthy businesses in the world, according to a new survey from Newsweek.

Released Wednesday, the first-time listing for the publication’s “World’s Most Trustworthy Companies 2023” was based on the confidence of customers, investors, and employees. With the assistance of Statista, a global data research firm, Newsweek listed 1,000 companies in 21 countries and 23 industries.

Newsweek’s survey included more than 70,000 participants, gathering 269,000 evaluations of companies. Along with looking at customer trust, investor trust and employee trust, companies were also vetted for recent scandals or litigation during the analysis.

In April, Newsweek released its survey of the “most trustworthy” in the U.S., a list that included 10 Charlotte companies.

The new international list is based on a company’s global headquarters. So even though a business like food services company Compass Group has its North America headquarters in Charlotte, it is listed in the survey under the U.K. since its headquarters is in Cherstey, England.

Here are Carolina-based companies that made the inaugural listing for 2023:
