NC high school baseball, softball brackets. Which Fayetteville teams made the cut?

Nine Cumberland County high school baseball and softball teams have earned a spot in the N.C. High School Athletic Association state playoffs, which begin with first-round games Tuesday.

Five baseball teams and four softball squads are set to represent the Fayetteville area in the postseason. Both programs at Cape Fear and Gray's Creek will start the playoffs on their home fields.

Overall, 36 first-round games will feature region teams. The full baseball and softball brackets can be found on the NCHSAA website

Following the opening night of the playoffs, other rounds are set to take place May 13, May 17 and May 20 with regional championships slated for May 24-28.

State championship series are scheduled for June 3-4.
