1. ‘Lord, let this storm pass over’: NC residents describe horrific scene as tornado hits

A powerful tornado cut a path more than 16 miles through Edgecombe and Nash counties yesterday afternoon.

Areas including Battleboro, Rocky Mount and Dortches saw widespread damage and numerous injuries. No fatalities were reported.

2. Is car taken from Long Island Serial Killer’s SC property linked to Charlotte victim?

A vehicle tied to Rex Heuermann, the alleged Long Island Serial Killer, was found more than 700 miles away from New York in Chester, S.C.

Heuermann was arrested and charged with the murders of three woman, one of which is Charlotte native Amber Lynn Costello.

3. Mint Street parking deck near stadium and ballpark will get a $6 million makeover

The Mint Street parking deck is getting a makeover.

A popular parking destination for Charlotte sports fans given its proximity to both Bank of America Stadium and Truist Field, the parking deck is slated for a $6 million renovation over the next nine months.

4. Fake airline phone numbers on Google: Was Charlotte airport targeted?

Summer is a busy time for travelling and recently scammers have been caught trying to trick passengers at the airport.

In a social media post, a person shared how they almost got scammed by someone posing as a Delta Airlines customer service representative from John F. Kennedy International Airport.
