Grammy-nominated duo Sylvan Esso will perform on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Monday night.

The Durham group’s “Free Love” album is up for a Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album, their second nomination in the category. They were nominated in 2017 for their album, “What Now.”

Monday’s late-night performance marks a return to normalcy for the married couple made up of Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn. Like most other musical acts, Sylvan Esso was homebound when they released their album in September 2020. They made the most of it with remote performances on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and NPR’s “Tiny Desk (Home) Concerts.” They also launched a virtual concert series, “From the Satellite.”

But once live shows returned, they embarked on a 30-date “Shaking Out the Numb” tour with stops all over the country. They also launched their own Psychic Hotline record label, built a recording studio and were featured in Vanity Fair.

The Grammys will be held April 3, with the COVID-19 surge postponing the awards broadcast from its initial Jan. 31. date.

Looking ahead, Sylvan Esso will have three headlining hometown shows at the Historic Durham Athletic Park May 19-21. Billed as “The Greatest Show on Dirt!” the three shows also will feature Moses Sumney, Yo La Tengo and Little Brother.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” airs at 11:35 p.m. on ABC, with guests Keegan-Michael Key (“NFL Honors”) and Jennifer Coolidge (“The White Lotus”).

Sylvan Esso previously performed on Kimmel’s late-night show in 2018 to debut their single “PARADE(w/m)E.”
