The NCHC's top 10 transfers for 2022-23
Sep. 30—GRAND FORKS — Here are the Herald's top 10 transfers in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference for the 2022-23 season:
1. Casey Dornbach, fifth, F, Denver
The 25-year-old from Edina was a consistent scorer during his time at Harvard and will help replace some of Denver's lost offense.
2. Derek Daschke, fifth, D, Minn. Duluth
Minnesota Duluth hasn't found a true power play quarterback since Scott Perunovich left. The fifth-year senior from Miami will provide that.
3. Grant Cruikshank, fifth, F, St. Cloud State
St. Cloud State is planning to move Cruikshank back to center, where he thrived during three years at Colorado College.
4. Ty Farmer, fifth, D, North Dakota
Farmer might not have the biggest offensive numbers, but he brings a lot more than that to his teams. He won titles with Fargo (USHL) and UMass.
5. Tristan Broz, soph, F, Denver
The Pittsburgh Penguins draft pick wanted a change of scenery and left Minnesota for Denver, which has top-six forward spots up for grabs.
6. Drew DeRidder, fifth, G, North Dakota
DeRidder has consistently posted good numbers on bad Michigan State teams. We'll see what he can do now behind a good team.
7. Cameron Rowe, jr, G, Western Michigan
Rowe has had a rollercoaster of a career, but when he's on, he's outstanding as evidenced by his .933 as a freshman at Wisconsin.
8. Jack Perbix, sr, F, Western Michigan
Perbix, a Ducks draft pick, was buried in the lineup at Minnesota. Western will put him back in an offensive role, where he thrives.
9. Carter Berger, sr, D, Western Michigan
The Broncos lost their two offensive defensemen in Ronnie Attard and Michael Joyaux. Berger, a Panthers draft pick, didn't put up big numbers at UConn, but he did in juniors.
10. Dominic Basse, jr, G, St. Cloud State
The 6-foot-6 Chicago Blackhawks draft pick was up-and-down during two years at Colorado College. When he's on, he can steal games, but he needs to find more consistency.
