NCIS Sydney gets new premiere date

NCIS: Sydney has been given a new premiere date in the US.

According to TVLine, the Aussie spin-off of the police procedural series will now air on Tuesdays instead of Mondays in the US, with its premiere on Tuesday, November 14 at 8pm on CBS.

Additionally, the episodes will be available live and on demand to stream for Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers, with Paramount+ Essential subscribers able to access the episode a day after it airs.

In Australia, the series will premiere on Friday, November 10 on Paramount+, with further international release dates to be confirmed.

NCIS: Sydney will be led by DC's Legends of Tomorrow star Olivia Swann and Home and Away's Todd Lasance, who star as NCIS special agent Michelle Mackey and sergeant Jim 'JD' Dempsey.

Additional cast members include Neighbours star Mavournee Hazel, as well as Sean Sagar, Tuuli Narkle and William McInnes.

"With rising international tensions in the Indo-Pacific, a brilliant and eclectic team of US NCIS agents and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) are grafted into a multinational taskforce to keep naval crimes in check in the most contested patch of ocean on the planet," the series' official logline reads.

The news comes after the show was officially moved to CBS, with the series initially set to premiere exclusively on exclusively on Paramount+.

In a statement following the show's CBS announcement, CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach said: "NCIS is one of the most popular series in the world and we're thrilled to expand this franchise with a uniquely Australian twist.

"Featuring the stunning backdrop of Australia, the new series will incorporate the high-stakes intrigue, humour and camaraderie that have kept fans captivated by the NCIS teams for over two decades."

NCIS airs on CBS in the US. Seasons 1-20 are streaming on Disney+ in the UK.
