The CT Elite Baseball League is now in full swing, and the 19U NCL team, with players from Windsor Locks, Suffield and Windsor, is in first place in the Division 3 bracket, with a 6-0 record after a 9-7 win over East Hartford-Manchester on July 13.
The league was created after the American Legion declined to sponsor baseball across the country this season, due to the coronavirus pandemic. A group of Legion volunteers and coaches decided to form the league, so players could take the field this year, with several precautions in place.
The league is set to play games through August, and another season is planned for the fall.
