Neal McCoy returns to Secrest Auditorium on Dec. 15; tickets go on sale Friday

ZANESVILLE − Country singer Neal McCoy will perform Dec. 15, at Secrest Auditorium, 334 Shinnick St. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at secrestauditorium.com.

This is not his first concert in Zanesville. He previously performed at Secrest in April 2014.

McCoy has released 15 studio albums. In 1993, he broke through with back-to-back number one singles "No Doubt About It" and "Wink" from his platinum-certified album "No Doubt About It."

His commercial success continued into the late 1990s with two more platinum albums and a gold album, as well as six more top 10 hits. A seventh top 10 hit, "Billy's Got His Beer Goggles On," came in 2005 from his self-released "That's Life." A new studio album, "XII," arrived in 2012, co-produced by Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert.

In 2013, he released "Pride: A Tribute to Charley Pride," McCoy's longtime friend and mentor. "You Don't Know Me" featuring band band standards followed in 2015. A collection of McCoy's favorite hits, with two now songs, came out in 2017.

Born Hubert Neal McGaughey, Jr. in Jacksonville, Texas, he first began singing in gospel choirs.

In 1981, he won a talent contest that was attended by Janie Fricke. She helped him secure the opening act spot on Charley Pride's tour, where he remained for six year. In 1988 he went out on his own and released his debut single, "That's How Much I Love You."

McCoy has been on 17 USO Tours around the world and continues to say it's one of the achievements he's most proud of. He is also the recipient of multiple humanitarian awards from the Academy of Country Music, Country Radio Broadcasters and Masonic Grand Lodge. He also maintains a very busy touring schedule all through the year.
