San Francisco power outage Thursday morning affects thousands

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A power outage impacted thousands of customers in San Francisco Thursday morning, according to PG&E. An outage map from the power company showed Golden Gate Park and areas south in the Sunset District were without power.

The outage began shortly after 7 a.m., according to PG&E. Power was expected to be restored by 10:30 a.m., according to the PG&E website. There were 14,226 customers without power, according to the company’s website. A later statement from PG&E stated that 8,807 customers were affected.

Power was restored to all customers by 8:44 a.m., PG&E said.

Another atmospheric river likely to hit Bay Area next week

The cause of the power outage is under investigation, PG&E told KRON4.
