Nearly 400 Teachers In Brockton Received First COVID Vaccine Doses Friday

The teachers got the shots a year to the day of when the schools originally shut down.

- Nearly 400 teachers in Brockton got their first vaccine doses today. The school district partnered with the Brockton neighborhood Health Center for a three-day vaccine clinic. More than 1,000 teachers in all requested vaccines.

- The city of Brockton, vis a vis the Board of Health gets an allotment of about four or five, 600 per week for the city. The Neighborhood Health Center was recognized by President Biden through the federal recipients. Now they get thousands of vaccines per week. So the synergy was there, the mission was there. We forged a bond, and the bond is strong. And we have a shared vision just to save lives.

- What timing. The teachers are getting these shots a year to the day that Brockton school shut down. The district resumed its hybrid model just two weeks ago.
