Nearly naked driver and passenger busted after multiple hit-and-runs, trespassing on school property

A motorist wearing almost nothing was arrested in Flagler County, Florida, after driving over an elementary school’s outdoor track and being involved in several collisions, according to police.

“Just when you think you’ve seen and heard everything; a driver causes multiple hit-and-run crashes, flees from law enforcement, resists arrest and then has to be dragged out naked from his car to be arrested,” Sheriff Rick Staly wrote on Facebook Thursday.

Police said the pursuit occurred Wednesday when a Florida Fish and Wildlife officer saw an SUV blow through an intersection, striking several vehicles. The officer turned on his lights and pursued the SUV, which didn’t stop.

“The vehicle entered the property of Old Kings Elementary School and drove around the running track before exiting the school and continuing to flee down Old Kings Road,” cops said.

That vehicle then entered the Flagler County Landfill and into a wooded area between the rubbish site and I-95, where numerous law enforcement officials joined the pursuit. That’s where they pulled over 22-year-old Stephen Peterson and his 20-year-old passenger, Victoria Averill.

“It is unknown why the male was not wearing more clothing,” cops wrote on Facebook.

Video of the arrest shows the suspected driver wearing socks and having some sort of cloth tied around his waist.

Peterson faces charges including eluding police, leaving the scene of a crash, resisting arrest, trespassing on school grounds and marijuana possession. His passenger was arrested on drug charges and trespassing on school grounds.
