Needing to fill your weekend event calendar in Shreveport? Check out these fun events

March in Shreveport-Bossier is slowly coming to a close and with Spring Break behind us, filling the weekend calendar is a top priority.

Looking for something for the whole family? Don't miss out on the Defenders of Liberty Air Show at Barksdale. Want to relive the 90s? Head out to Bear's to rock out to some grunge covers. Love boxing? Check out the new Friday Night Sparring event in the East Bank District and more.

Friday, March 24

  • Friday Night Sparring: Battle of the Gray Beards at the East Bank District & Plaza - The Dement Brothers Boxing Club is a local nonprofit created to improve the lives of youth through boxing. This public sparring event is sponsored by the Bossier Arts Council and will feature local USA Boxing Registered Youth from local teams around the ArkLaTex. This free event will take place a 6 p.m. at the 600 Block of Barksdale Blvd. in Bossier City.

  • The Totally Rad 90s Party Tour at Bear's - Otis Julius and Nice Enough Ent are teaming up to bring Shreveport a rad night filled with covers of your favorite 90s songs, surprise guests, prizes and more. There will be a $10 cover at the door and the show opens at 7 p.m. 1401 Fairfield Ave. in Shreveport.

  • Ole Whiskey Revival at Fuzzy's Taco Shop - Nothing pairs better than tacos and whiskey so come out and experience local band Ole Whiskey Revival turn Fuzzy's Taco Shop into a Honky Tonk starting at 7 p.m. at 4600 E. Texas St. in Bossier City.

Saturday, March 25

  • Defenders of Liberty Air Show at Barksdale Air Force Base - This family-friendly event is free to enter and will have amazing entertainment from the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, Aeroshell Aerobatic Team, the Red Bull Air Force and more along with vendor booths and food. It will take place Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

  • Celebration of Nat King Cole at the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra - Celebrate the life and work of superstar Nat King Cole brought to life by the amazing Caesar and new orchestra arrangements and a jazz combo. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. at the RiverView Theater in downtown Shreveport. Tickets can be purchased at the Shreveport Symphony website.

  • Elle King at Margaritaville - The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter will bring her "A-Freakin-Men" Tour to the Paradise Theatre at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $50 and can be purchased at the Margaritaville website.
